Simulator, demo or free pack: three different things

They all open a pack for nothing. That is where the similarity ends.

One note on words first. Pack opening site and mystery box site mean the same thing here. LuxDrop and PackDraw say packs, RillaBox says boxes, and the mechanic is identical.

A simulator is a game. Digital packs, digital cards, no account balance and no way to receive anything. Fun, harmless, and not what this page ranks.

A demo spin lives on a real pack opening site. It runs the real reel over the real table, then throws the result away. Nothing lands in your cart.

What a demo spin is good for

More than you would think, and less than the button suggests.

It shows you the reel and the pace. It shows you the table, because the demo sits on the same page as the odds. On LuxDrop you can run a whole demo battle and learn the modes without paying for the lesson.

Eighty-six cents, across three sites and about $420 of paid play.

The Daily Free box is the honest one. Nine items, a Nike Dunk Low at the top, and a reel that stops on one cent.

That is not a scandal. Free packs are small by design, and every table printed its odds before we opened anything. It is just a long way from the free iPhone on the banner.

Levels: the slow road to free packs

Every site here ties its better free packs to a level, and every level is bought with play.

On RillaBox one dollar played is one XP. $143 took us from level 5 to level 7. Its level boxes start at level 5 and need a $25 deposit in the last 60 days, and rakeback starts at level 5 too.

What does free cost you?

No money. A few other things.

• An email address. Nothing unlocks before it is verified, and it gets used. LuxDrop mails reminders to accounts that have not deposited.
