Who writes BetterChecked: Florian, Lukas and Ilias

Three people write BetterChecked. This page says who we are, how we test and which sites we have played with our own money.

Every score on this site is ours. An affiliate deal never changes a verdict, and when a link is affiliate we label it.

Florian

Lead editor and maintainer. I first touched the mystery box space in 2019, as a user, through Lootie and HYBE. Since then I have opened countless boxes.

I have also seen the other side of the counter: I helped sites as an operator. So I know how these sites work from the inside, not only from the checkout page.

In 2023 I started this magazine to write that knowledge down, from both perspectives: the user who opens the boxes and the operator who runs the site. Both sides have blind spots, which is why this site writes from both.

Today I edit BetterChecked and keep it running. Every page here is edited and signed off by me before it goes live. It is a collaborative effort all the same: all three of us tested sites, wrote articles and lists, and edit.

Lukas

Editor and tester. Many of the hands-on tests on BetterChecked were performed by Lukas: the sign-ups, the deposits, the boxes, the support chats and the withdrawals.

He also writes articles and lists and edits. In the mystery box industry since 2022.

Ilias

Editor and writer. Many of the posts on BetterChecked were written by Ilias: the news pieces and the guides. He also tested sites, wrote lists and edits.

He turns research into clear, useful guides.

How we test

We open real accounts, deposit our own money and document what happens: promos, fees, support, withdrawals. We score fairness, transparency, user experience, payouts and support, and every review explains how its score came about. The full method is on our About page under How we review.
